TA45 Turbo
Here are a few pics of the
turbo that was run on the 3-rotor in the past. It was a Turbonetics 60-1
with a 4" A/R 0.70 comp housing, with a P-Trim turbine in a 1.30 A/R OC
housing. It was way too small for the size of the motor, and
would pull 20psi boost as low as 2500rpm which was good for around town,
but it was also holding the engine back above 5500rpm. Now a Garrett
TA45 turbo with 76mm comp and 77mm turbine in a 1.22 housing is on the
engine to add more top-end power. The new turbo gets positive
pressure from 1500rpm but full boost does not hit until 3500rpm.
Currently the wastegate, a Turbosmart 45mm item, is set to the standard
7psi spring pressure. Boost will be turned up once the motor is run
in.
